7–8 September 2026 | University of Oslo, Norway

Migrant Citizen Science Association (MCSA) joined partners from across Europe and the Philippines for the Beyond Barriers kick-off meeting, held at the University of Oslo on 7–8 September 2026.

The two-day meeting brought the project consortium together at the beginning of the project to establish a shared understanding of the work ahead and strengthen collaboration across the partnership.

During the meeting, Work Package leaders presented their plans and priorities, giving partners the opportunity to discuss the different areas of work and how they connect across the project.

The meeting also created space for partners to discuss important challenges and practical issues that may arise during implementation, and to consider ways of addressing these together. These discussions provided an opportunity to clarify expectations, identify issues requiring further attention, and explore how the consortium can strengthen the project as the work progresses.

MCSA was represented by Love Malundo, Jones Danquah, Macel Ingles and Davina Hang, who joined remotely.

For MCSA, the kick-off was an opportunity to meet and work with the wider consortium, contribute the organization's perspective on migrant inclusion and citizen science, and engage in discussions about how the project can work effectively across its different partners and areas of expertise.

The meeting marked the beginning of the collaborative work of Beyond Barriers and set the stage for the project's next steps.
